Hey guys,

im kind of confused by all these things coming out for amd...

I just need to know ONE THING...

I need to know if i should wait till sometime in FEB whether or not amd will come out with something faster then the amd 64 3700 in a mobile laptop or at least a faster gpu then the ati 9800?

The fastest currently available video card on an AMD notebook is, to my knowledge, the 9700 mobility, actually. We don't know when they'll start shipping PCIe notebooks because that's up to vendors. In addition, it's not really AMD's delay in making chipsets - they just don't make chipsets, unlike Intel. That's part of why it often takes longer for AMD to get features.

And sometime in February, there will probably be at least one x800/6800 DTR notebook with an Athlon 64 3700+ or better. Note, though, that it's not going above 3700+ until they switch sockets, in all likelihood (for DTR chips at the least), because that's where the desktop Socket 754 cap is.

If you wait until february, there is a good chance that there will be some pci-e based athlon 64 notebooks entering the market (something along the lines of this http://www.amdboard.com/arima_m622.html), but out of curiosity, why would you need or even want anything more than a 3700+.

GREAT thanks guys for the response . I was really on the edge wheter or not i was going to cave and get one with the 9700 but i want something much better then that for gaming. I just want to be head of the game and have some good quality power behind me. If nothing else patience is good for buying a laptop, but im sure i will definetely getting on in feb!
