here are the modded bioses. follow the correct link and let the suicide flashing begin...

http://www.angelfire.com/games5/clan_sh5/

mod1 has removed the 1st insertion
mod2 has removed the 2nd insertion
mod3 has added the only deletion

i have no idea how flashrom works so you're on your own.

***disclaimer***

i also take no responsibility nor accept any liability for fried cards after flashing any of these 7 bioses.

to be honest i don't think the amount of code added and deleted will affect card functionality but it's the simplest place to start.

if that doesn't work. then we can try substituting the replacement sections. starting from offset 527 [0x0000020F] in the 9800 bios to offset 588 [0x0000024C] and replace it with the corresponding section in the Mx800 bios offset 526 [0x0000020E] to offset 743 [0x000002E7]. then the next pair and the next after that etc. then possibly combinations. but since there are so many, it's going to take quite some time. a fried card is assured since one or a combination of those replaced sections codes for the pci-e interface.

This has been going on for too long.. Dosen't look good....
I agree. Next fried card and we'll setup a paypal account. Who should manage it though?
Did you pay for your fried cards? I thought you were just calling dell and telling them the classic:
"I was just playing a game and it stopped working for no reason"
Of course after the fifth card they will know that there is something going on.

Warranty??

Whackamac has said before that he doesn't pay for his replacements. But doesn't bios flashing void any warranty? Regardless whether or not the warranty lasts for a year, it still should be voided.

We need an adaptor from AGP 8x connector on the m9800 to a regular AGP 8x board so you can boot up on a PCI vid card and then re-flash.
we needs to be made is an adapter for pci-e to agp.... now that would be somthing....... I almost want a new pc cause agp will no longer be... even now new pci-e notebook vid cards are pretty powerful and they are saying you can upgrade them..... makes you wonder....

argh i love technological advances but hate getting stuck with things that are gonna go obsolete soon...i wouldnt mind having a 17 inch XPS with an x800 mobility. wonder if they are gonna stick radi 0 in those machines. 2 100 gb hdds in raid 0 should do the trick for me
