I'm looking for an aluminum case for my d800. Can anyone suggest a particular brand or store to purchase this type of case?

Thanks.

I use a semi-rugged case for my 8600. It is made of nylon and has tough padding all over. It's a shoulder bag. It is designed so that you never have to take it out of the bag to use it - there is access to all ports except bottom because that's where the velcro holds it together. Just unzip it and open. Military uses these in the desert and I use it in my dirty machine shop.

I can get detailed pics of the 8600 inside the case. It has a perfect fit.

Not quite. That looks like overkill, unless I join the foreign legion.

I bought the Pelican #1490 Deluxe laptop case for my i8600. That case has proven to be a VERY worth while investment! It has protected my laptop from Ft Drum --> Kuwait and all the way up into IRAQ. The case has some battle scars but the laptop is just fine!

If you want aluminum, check out the Zero Halliburton cases.
I have one in gunmetal grey that has stood the test of time.
The one I have is the "enhanced" version with dual latches & a combination lock with a sliding tool steel bar, and neoprene gaskets all around.

This case is great!!! It is just too bad that an I9200 is too big for it. I am going to give the owner a call and see if he has any plans to accommodate the I9200/I9300 series. I will let everyone know what I find out.

The last time I called them (a couple of months ago) they only had three sizes (smallest being the size that fits 600m and the largest accomodates 8600). The case has a pocket to put your cords in and a removable arm strap.

When you call ask to talk to Scott.

I buy things like that at Cabella shooting suplies, I would bet they have a aluminum gun cases in which a laptop would fit nicely.

If you have to be so nosey I buy Peltor Ultimate 10 Headphones as I have Hyper acusis, too much dynamic ripped from inner ear at a lot of Rock Concerts I attended. I hear too dam much the audioligist, said "we're working on hearing aids not antenuators for you poor people that hear too much".!

Go head make your day either ask doctor or get a medical dictionary and look up the word Hyper acusis AKA acute hearing, monkey boy. There are no batteries and the Ultimate 10 has a 29 Decibel rating for $19.95

Most shooting suppliers sell headphones to gun or riflemen to use not to lose their hearing when shooting! Stupid uninformed people making incorrect accusations. When you stop at the zoo you will feel and smell like you do at home monky boy.
