Cooling Pad

I've noticed lately that my lappy gets pretty warm after I play UT2k4 for a while. I have it propped up on Jenga pieces ( ) right now for better airflow.

After doing some searching on the forums and a few websites, I can't really find a cooling pad that will fit my 5500. Do any of you own one, and if so, which one? Does it seem to work well?

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Might want to try Vantec Lapcool 2 Notebook Cooler. I have a 17" notebook and even thoug the cooler is smaller than it width-wise, it has 4 little rubber feet that popup on top and support the laptop very well. The 4 port USB hub is nice bonus. And it seems to help cool the thing down well too. It brings the laptop about an inch off the desk and slightly tilts it toward me, which I like.

Hope that helps...

I ended up buying the Antec Notebook Cooler. Its fans suck the air down and push it out. After playing UT for a while, it seemed a bit cooler. I only have one question. Do the fans underneath my lappy blow air out, or suck air in? If they sucked, would the cooler actually counter fans of the laptop and make it hotter?

they suck air in .. Check out the post on modding the lappy for cooler temps. you may wanna purchase a extra tin tray so if you need to send lappy to a depot they dont void warranty

So should I stop using this pad?

use mobile monitor and watch ur temps and do some test. run a benchmark with the pad then let lappy idle for 10 min and run with out then let idle 10 min then run with again and average the results. snag the temp that mobile monitor shows the exact second you end the benchmark and see your screen.
