My understanding is that the 4GB mini's use CF and the 20GB and above have an actual hard drive.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

no the mini uses a microdrive.. which i think is diff than cf - i remember when they first came out, photographers were buying minis just to tear them apar cuz it was cheaper than buying the drive.

put the ipod mini up to you ear then pick a song to play and you can hear the HHD spin-up then shut down after a couple of seconds. Same for the zen micro

I heard something similiar from my friend whose cousin was selling the actual drives on ebay for around $350.00 - $400.00

A side note while at the nearby CompUSA near me, I saw that HP has made printable tattoos for the Ipods. It is for the Ipod that has the click wheel (4th gen.)

hmm, the only apple product i have is an apple IIc, i think it stillworks, i have pacman for it and some sort of music program with mozart on it. never was into the whole mp3 thing, i bought an mpio mp3 player with FM + FM Recording + Voice record, it was really kick ass! even had a spectrum analyzer and peak level meter (vu meters?) anywho i sold that and got an MD player, the MD player has a vu meter too but no FM recording, i can record voice with the MD but i need a mic or something else. the only reason why i dont like mp3 players is they just dont hold alot for cheap. my MD can hold 80 songs per disc on average, ive gotten it up to 90 before and sometimes its down to 75 so it really depends on what songs you have. 80 is the avg @ 315mins. MDs only cost $3 dollars per disc BRAND NEW from the store. now MDs have the 1gB which holds a hellva lot. ive heard the sony20GB HDD player can hold up to 13000 songs and lasts 30HRS on batt life. my md player i have no clue how long it lasts but playing it ever day for at least 1 hr on my nimh battery it will last well over 1 month on 1 charge, i usually have a spare aa with me since you have to charge them in pairs.

i own a ipod shuffle. it is a great player i love the lightness of it and it is so simple and easy to use, i operate while it is in my pocket.

apple recently did a software update for the shuffle so now when you pull out the headphones it pause the song

I read somewhere those printable stickers leave marks on the iPod when you take it off. It was really hard to get the marks off. Unless you're going to permanetly leave it on the iPod, you should really be careful using those stickers.

i can't imagine the sticker leaves marks.. more likely it leaves residue which is difficult to remove.. or they are installed incorrectly.

hey guys, what do you think of the fm transmitters? I have been hearing very bad comments about them, like the griffin itrip and the sound isn't very good, lots of static, in some cities you have to change stations every so often... but there's no other way to hook up the ipod to the car. I don't have a bmw

some are good, some are bad - which one are you looking at?

any. anything that works, and works well... there was another one, irock or something but I can't seem to find it in retail stores

you may want to read the reviews at err.. podlounge.com i think, or ipodding.net.. something like that, ther eis a huge shootout on one of them. so far i think the monster one is ahead.. and it pains me to say that as they make overpriced laughable gear typically.

I had the 3rd gen 10gb then sold it and bought myself a 4th gen 20gb. Love it so far. I guess when the color screen becomes standard i will sell my 20g and buy the 5th gen. So far i bought a Marware Leather Case, iPod Dock, Belkin charger and FM transmitter.
