Which brings me to my next point, anyone know of a good, safe way to make my iPod unworkable so that I may use this BestBuy warranty I bought 2 years ago. PM me if you do...The warranty covers SURGES, so that may be a possibility? Haha. I know its bad to destroy such a beautiful creation...but it has its quirks and I want an iPod Photo.

all ipods now have colour screen... so gd news (=

I use the monster fm transmitter. http://www.monstercable.com/computer...r.asp?pin=2084

It only shares one thing with the iTrip and that is that it plays the mp3s over an fm signal. What the monster does though is that you plug one end of the cord to the bottom of your iPod and then stick the other end into your cigarette plug. After that you have 8 fm radio options to choose from (this elimiates the need to download channels and make them into a playlist like the iTrip requires) and it also charges your iPod as you go...unlike the iTrip. Sounds like i'm bashing the iTrip.

Anyways that was my 2 cents.

I actually tried to make an external battery using an altoids tin case and some radio shack equipment, but I ended up messing up my 20GB B/W iPod. I knew that my new external battery pack was going to mess up my iPod but I did it anyway. It ended up shorting the power on the iPod and if you sniffed the bottom power port you could smell that it was burnt. The funny thing was was that I could still charge it through the computer, but not through the outlet. Anyway, I purchased mine from Circuit City along with their extended warranty and got mine replaced and bought the 30GB iPod Photo, since I wanted color but they are all now color. Now they have the 20GB Color which would have been the one that I would have purchased. But, the 30GB has the same dimensions, just extra 10GB which costs $50, lol. Well, yeah, that is my story. So try to short circuit your iPod and return it and get a new color one

long live the iPod thread!

I did not recieve the letter, but I do have the link for what you need somewhere. I'll post it when I find it.

My iPod is doing great (3rd gen), but it falls into the allowable timeframe. So I will be getting 50 bucks in store credit to the apple store.

i got the letter and said screw it and took the fifty bucks(hello new 6gb ipod mini). my old ipod only lasts for about 1 hour on battery, the screen is starting to go and the buttons only work when they want to. but i still love my ipod and though a little over priced i wouldnt trade it for anything.
