hey nik, it also depends ont he types of appz you run. Appz that access hard drive frequently would have a noticeable difference, but those which run using memory would not be changed by hard drive performance.

Check out Toms Hardware 2.5" Comparison. The 5400 is a pretty good performer. The 4200 is SLOW.

Personally, I went with the 7200 since I work with databases a lot and 150 bucks over two-three years isn't that much.

I have a question about the battery setup....

when it says #2 dual battery setup... does that just mean you have the option to have two charged batteries in the computer at once? But you would have to buy a second battery for that slot?

Or does it mean that it comes with a battery in the slot?
You have to purchase the extra battery

Not an easy decision

Had a hard time deciding on extras. so I went for all the ones that made sense.
5680V
UXGA (wide view....Yeah baby!!!)
3.2/800 (fast.. fast.. fast)
1024 DDR400 (ditto)
60G 7200 (ditto)
DVDRW/CDRW (to see what it can do)
60G 7200 #2 (possible software raid 0)
DVD/CDRW #2 (music archiving)
LI-ION #2 (gotta have one)
XP PRO (more, better)
3 YR. WARRANTY (don't like to pay for broken toys)
$3949.00 total
Took about six months to order......pretty happy with it.....need a car adapter....otherwise "It's all good now"
Read a lot of you guy's posts..learned a lot..Thanks for posting
