You might have a problem with the RAID. I noticed that you ordered a battery for bay #2. But with raid 0 if one HDD isn't there then it won't work. So the second you take your second HDD out to put the second battery in, you won't have any useable data. You might wanna look into changing something in your order or just not using raid (or use raid 1).

hopefully it will be sorted out by tomorrow...cant be wakin up pops this late to deal with my laptop
I used my uncles credit card to order 2 8890's, same thing happened. It turned out they only rejected it because it was such a large internet purchase that they wanted verification. After he gave it to them they took the card.

How's this??
if $2676.99 + $164.01 = $2481.00, then yes, he is telling the truth

i used my l33t m4th skillz and deduced that he switched the numbers around:

$2676.99 + $164.01 = $2841.00

perhaps in his total excitement his fingers slipped and he switched the numbers...hopefully he won't do this again..or face the consequences

kidding of course

the same thing happened to me...EXCEPT...i wasn't the one who made the purchase. this is unrelated to anything with pctorque...someone got my credit card number and tried to purchase $2000 dollars worth of stuff from an online computer site..computer world or something. the credit card stopped it and called me to verify it. of course i said "F**K NO i didn't charge that much " with real flames shooting out of my mouth. so they had to change my credit card number. i'm just glad the charge didn't go through..or i would of been in deeper sh*t

moral of this story?...well there is none..just be careful

raid problem

Thanks for the heads up.
Unless I'm mistaken (that never happens..ha) I believe I can software raid two partitions. One on each drive. When using second battery I will disable raid and not access those partitions.
Any thoughts.......?
Also, does anyone know if the dvd payback on the dvd-r is as good as the non-r player..better/worse/reasons..could not find comments or suggestions using the underabused search button..thanks

So here's a question for you guys (I just joined the Sager family myself with a 5680 - 8/19/03 6:35 pm EDT ): why are none of you getting the extended warranty? Is is that you think the warranty is no good? Are you planning on upgrading before three years are up? Are you just assuming that you won't have any problems?

I hear you on that statement Bratag. Women forgive but they dagum never forget anything! My wife still brings up stuff I did while we dated at ucla....that was 1997!

I asked adam about this when I bought my 5670:

"I just don't understand getting the fastest notebook on the planet and getting anything less than the 7200 RPM HD? A faster HD is VERY noticable as opposed to even a 400 Mhz CPU speed gap."

According to Adam he said that if your storage is bigger (80 gig compared to a 60 gig HDD) then it theoretically should be just as fast as the 5400 I don't know how the 60Gig @7200rpm HDD stacks up to the 80 GIG @ 4200. I just like to DL a lot of game demos and have many PC games even though I never play them I like to have them all on my Sager 5670. Can anyone expand on these thoughts?

Oh my wife might inherit my 5670 and after 10/15 when th eprice of cpu's drop I may be lucky enough to get the M-10 and 800 FSB 5680-V

So my wife can be cool sometimes, thank God. I just have to pray that she gets into PA school so that she will need my 5670 and justify me buying the 5680 (another lappy after just 3 months or so).

Another question I have is about the DVDr 2x; does anyone know how these work? Can you rip DVD movies as back ups of course) with the Nero software. Anyone with the 1x DVD on a 5670 or 8890 that can document this. Thx a bunch

You are mistaken. You can not do this, raid0 is an all or none proposition. You can partiton a raid0 array like any HD, but, remove one of the drives in the array and all data = dust. Windows thinks the raid0 array is one physical drive.
