Best way to clean screen - Page 2

I noticed the cheap "electronic wipes" sold under different names at stores like officemax just have the alcohol smell to them also. Whats up with using alcohol? Why not warm water and a good cloth? It cleans everything off the screen right? If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it, i learned that the hard way(multiple times)

Lay screen down flat and use a very clean soft teeshirt and clean COLD water(hot or warm has more stuff in it) just get the teeshirt moist and wipe in soft but firm even circular motions and then use the dry part of the teeshirt and repeat until dry. Your Breath and then the cloth also makes a good solvent for the ocassional film that still remains.

A dry micro cloth (eyeglass cloth) will work great for light dirt, and you can use a water damp one for heavier grim.

Watch out when attempting to use some kind of cleaning solution i.e. iso-alcohol, Windex etc. Some LCDs have a coating on them, and the solvent can screw up the surface, sometimes giving it a permanent haze.
