I finally spoke to HP and was advised they have International Warranty on ALL Their products. The only thing to keep in mind is that if the parts for the product are not available from the country you are in then you will have to fork out shipping costs.

So as long as the model you are looking at is available in your country, you can buy it from anywhere in the world and get it repaired locally.

bring on the ZD8000 Yayayayya...

Another post from me, its probably morning there now.. reply to my posts! hehe
whats the temp on one of these like?

It does get really warm, but not as blazingly hot as some would think. Now, I haven't played Doom or a first person shooter, but Neverwinter Nights is a heavy game with the graphics pumped up and I do run tons of regular office apps all at once, and there's been no heat issues. Take that for what you will, but I'm happy.

PC Wizard reports cpu temp 118F and hard drive temp 86F.
(see my sig for cpu and HD specs)
That's with a movie playing off the hard drive in the background. I'm not a gamer so I can't check that.

You will like the ZD 8000.

Thats pretty good temps, My desktop runs at those temps :-)

By the way, do you guys know if the TV-Tuner that comes with the laptop supports PAL format. I checked the manual on the HP website and it didnt mention a thing about it.

Also the power adapter for the laptop is it a universal adapter. ie: 120v/240v, if you are unsure it should be written on the power adapter itself.

Thanks for all your help

The tv tuner is Pal ready.
The power adapter on the laptop and the tv tuer both says 100/240 volt.

Finally got my ZD8000. Just wondering if there are any ways to control the 3 fans on the laptop?
I have noticed only 1 is currently runningand the other two are still

Hey, if that's all you have running, be thankful. It just indicates that you're not needing to cool your system down any further.

And even though you just got it, I'd double check that you have the latest firmware (F24) installed as that helped with the fans (from what I've seen) among other issues. If you're unsure how to do that, just double click on your HP Support Icon on your desktop and you can choose to look at all of your system specs in one central location. Pretty neat feature for the not so technically inclined.

Yeah i do have the latest bios version installed F24 according to the utility you pointed me too. Its pretty neat.

Laptop is doing good though, temperature wise it runs between 39 to 47 degrees C for the hdd. The other temperature is at 55 degrees C, not sure what that is possibly the cpu or gpu.

what software do you use to measure the temp? i am using speedfan or mobile meter.
i am suprised it did not come with a built in option by HP.

I haven't measured my temps, but I'm going to check out this Mobile Meter as I've heard good things. I'd love to check after playing Neverwinter Nights. On another thread, someone gave me a link to ATI Tray Tools (www.radeon2.re/atitray) It's not officially supported by ATI, but it will supposedly check your gpu. I'm going to give both a try later this week.

Tell me about the fans.

On mine, I think I have a problem, I keep hearing that one fan is always supposed to be on, but on mine, I never notice the middle fan on, and the side two fans come on after a while, and when running a lot of stuff.

Is the middle fan the one that is supposed to be on all the time?

Please help, my luck really sucks, I know, but I need to know if I gotta take advantage of my 3-year bestbuy warranty
