OMG I clean my a lot more often than that mine actually never look like that.
I clean-em about once a month.
In fact I just cleaned the inside today and I actually didn't see any dust. I just use some compressed air and doing it once a month they hardly see any dust.

i wish i could clean mine. maybe the fans will spin quieter and the system wont get as hot. But I can't open my lappy until the warranty expires. And there is a seal, so if it is broken, they'll know.

Thats one of the main things I like about IBM is that they give you a lot of room to open it up and take care of things yourself.

i have plenty or room to open. there is just a seal that gets broken once i pull off the panel. if that thing is broken and something goes wrong with my lappy up untill september...i am screwed. better be safe than clean but as soon as it expires, 2 things are done. 1) more ram, buying a 2nd 512mb pc2700 module, and 2) clean fans.

How do you clean your fans? If you just blow compressed air up through the fan grate, where does all the dust go?????

i think thats his point, you cant clean the fans without takin the laptop apart and thus voiding the warranty. gahd, they gotta have more trust in laptop owners to do stuff like that, at least make the warranty more expensive or something with the assumption that the case will be opened.

Yep that was both of our points.
By room I meant that IBM allows the user to open the thing up without. voiding the warranty. Not to mention basically all you even have to remove is the keyboard and its all right there.
