This case is still going on, lol. Dell seem to never keep the time on promised phone calls nor keep the record of the conversation with the customers. Laptop still freezes while 3-D applications and games, even with Omega. Any comments on what I should do from this point?

I think you should sue.
lol, that seems to be the solution for everything. Just sue them.

lol, what is the first step I take to sue Dell then? I talked with the resolution specialist. He said only thing Dell can do is to give me 70% refund on my system which means I am losing 600 US-dollars. I am MAD. I live in Riverside.... any good lawyer around here?, lol

or

Should I put my machine on sale on E-bay? How much should I put the starting bidding price as?
I got

3.2Ghz Prescott with HT
Dual Channel 1g RAM
80gb hardrive
24X/8X CD-Rw/DVD combo
Radeon 9700 w 128mb
15.4 with SXGA 1680X1050
Quick Snap - Bamboo green
$100 off coupon on any purchase made from Dell (ends at July.1 of this year.)
16 cell extra bettery

I got this for $2000 plus tax 5 months ago

You own the notebook for several months for now. 30% to loose is not really that bad and you shoul think about it. I doubt you get more on eBay - especially these days when XPS2 is released and quite a few people are selling their XPS/9100.

Besides, legal consultation in civil suits are much more costly than 600 dollars. Then there is that sneaky little thing in there where you can lose! :-P

Well, I will try to sell this thing in South Korea where laptops are little more expensive than here... I might be able to get more than what I had paid for this machine, lol

except that joonie88 has also "owned" the problems for several months as well. doesn't sound very fair to me. i'm surprised that they haven't been able to resolve this.

yap... I paid $2000 so 70% means that I only get $1400 out of it which is rediculous. I am going to have to reconsider getting a Dell next time..... or... should I get MR9800 and upgrade it myself? I got $100 coupon.... anyone know the part number for mr9800? (I don't want professional installation thing where tech comes and install it)

I dont think it would be very responsible to sell a non working machine to some ebay bidder.

Oh and I forgot to say but the Razer Diamondback is a much better mouse than the MX1000, give it a try.

cool~ well, I am going to sell it to people who edits videos and do Photoshops, not the gamers...

Damn, so whats the deal with the people who supposidly got free 9800's early on in the thread. A format did not fix my problem. Games still freeze. This is discouraging since I got this laptop as a gaming machine.

Maybe you guys got unlucky and received one of those cards from the bad batch during the initial release? I have played and completed most if not all the games mentioned here giving people problems. I have the same MR9700 128mb using Omegas 4.11-5.1(used olders for KOTOR 1)
Well, I got my i9100 in June of 2004 and it has a bad card. I dont think my card is from the first bunch.

Same here, my dell was a referb as well so I'm thinking it was assembled in early May.

This is making me mad, I'm going to try and call dell later tonight.

There was a thread recently http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=65205 where problems in games were caused by system memory. Have you checked it yet for your notebook?

I mean, what the hell is wrong with 9100/XPS with these freezing problems? When I purchased Dell, I bought it thinking that it'll run anything fine without any problem. Now, what I have is the laptop that freezes on most of the 3-D games!!! Well, I am just pissed that I did not wait and got a different laptop.....although this could have been a great laptop if it didn't freeze on me.

Finally after 6 months of complaining and e-mailing to Dell executives and board members, I am getting my old 9100 replaced with 9300 with few upgrades and extended warrenty. Although I am getting it finally resolved, DAMN, I don't ever want to go though this again.

I had to go through the same freaking thing. From the 9100 to the XPS 1 to the 9300 (nice lappy!). When you do get it, can you PM me and let me know if you get the x300 or the Nvidia card.
