What font settings do you prefer?

Just wondering. Some people run 96 or 120 dpi with cleartype, or standard, or none at all. What do you guys prefer? Cleartype is supposed to be great for LCD's but 96dpi cleartype just looks sort of blurry to me. Oh, i have an Asus W6Bne (1280 X 800 WXGA) incase that helps.

On an 15" SXGA (1400x1050) I prefer 105-110 dpi with standard fonts. The cleartype seems to make the letters stand out too much which I find distracting...

I've got the 15.4" WUXGA(1920 x 1200), and I keep my settings on 96 dpi; I believe with Cleartype fonts. The blur doesn't seem to be an issue at this size due to the huge native resolution of the screen.

Just noticed you mentioned blurriness with cleartype fonts. Did you calibrate it? (In Win XP there's a calibration routine when you activate cleartype fonts)

I'm not sure... i just hit ok -> apply, didn't do anything extra.

EDIT: i found http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...pe/tuner/1.htm and that helped get my fonts looking better.

Ah, that could be it. go and calibrate the cleartype fonts. When I did that, I found the text was so sharp it was distracting...
