Okay...okay...stop bugging me.....

I going to give you a simple review on my zd8000...
I will be posting a more in-depth review on saturday or sunday...
Okay Here it goes:

The Laptop
Its a great laptop but I don't think we should call it a laptop..more like a portable desktop!!!! The thing is huge...at least 10lbs with out the power rubrick....but anyways performance is great and the tv tuner is awesome. Recordings come out perfectly and if you get XP Media Center its really user friendly! You don't really need the mini remote cause it already comes with one( not another mini remote but a remote about twice the size)...but the mini remote looks cool and is spiffy. What else...the gpu is good...its just a 9700 on crack.....customer service is good but I have one problem i will elaborate....

Base Specs:

Windows XP Media Center Edition
Pentium 4 3.2 with HT
1.0 gb of Ram
60gb 7200 rpm (but got a 60gb 4200 rpm HD and Yes I will elaborate)
256mb ATI Radeon X600

Portability (5/10)

Okay its huge end of question...

Sound (10/10)

The Harmon/Kardon speakers are nice...you can hear me a mile away...

Graphics (8/10)

Yeah its a pretty basic GPU...its a 9700 on crack......I will have 3DMark scores in my other review....It can handle whatever you throw...

User Friendliness (8/10)

Yeah....you got to be a moron not to understand...

Screen (10/10)

Huge...no dead pixels....

Battery Life (7/10)

Fully charged it pulls 2.21 Hrs

Customer Service (6/10)

Yeah its good but I think most of their employees are outsourced....it sounds like your talking to APU from the Simpsons!!

Look (9/10)

It looks sleek.....and nice...

Order Perfection (7/10)

WTF????? How do you mix up a 60gb 7200 rpm hardrive with a 60gb 4200rpm hardrive??????????? But I got the whole problem fixed and my new HD will arrive tommorow!

Laptop in a whole (8.9/10)

Excellent review, mcyi, thanks.

Can you say what format the DVR records to? AVI or MPEG-2, maybe? I'm wondering, because I do a lot of video editing and think the 7200RPM drive is the way to go, but not sure it will be big enough.

I'll answer my own question, thanks to Notebook Forums Search Function.

The DVR is produced by Adaptec, seems to be AWESOME and captures in mpeg-2 format, which will be perfect for the 60GB 7200RPM HD! Iirc, I read 1 min. of video = 450MB! My Pinnacle Card and software caps in avi, with 1 min. of video equaling about 1 GB. YOWZA....

O_O 1min=450mb? Holy hell...i hope you're going to encode that or something later on...that's just INSANE.
