First of all this is a Refurb unit, it is still under warranty, Acer was going to deny the warranty that orginaly came with it 3 years, apperently despite what they told me over the phone when I bought this lappy about 14 months ago it shouldnt have a warranty, a few well placed complaints and they chose to honor the warranty

The unit is in over all good shape, no dead pixels, there are a few small scratches in the upper right screen enclosure, and a small apx 1/4"x1/4" shallow dent on the back of the screen enclosure at the very bottom near the hinge.

The Keyboard and the touchpad are rather worn out from extensive use, however I intend to send it back to Acer to get them replaced with that warranty I fought so hard to gave honored.

The Unit is as follows

Apx 6.2 lbs
Apx 3.5 hours battery life in real use (non gaming)
Pentium M 1.3 ghz CPU
Radeon 9000 Mobility 64 meg (128 bit memory)
512 megs of Ram (Cas 2 dimms not Cas 2.5)
40 GB HD
1400x1050 15.1" LCD
Intel Wifi, Bluetooth button but no function (upgradeable?)
4 in 1 PCMCIA card reader
24X CDRW/DVD combo drive
Built in Smart Card Reader
4X USB 2 + 1 X IEEE 1394
S-Video and VGA out

This is essentialy the same laptop as the 8000 series with only minor differences.

In Preperation of upgrading to a Travelmate 8103
I am trying to figure out what would be a fair price for this laptop and how saleable it would be. If anyone cant live without it I would of course be happy to sell.

Im pretty sure my laptop is a lot nicer than that one, it has an extra 256 megs of ram, a 1400x1050 screen vs a 1024x768, is around a full lb lighter. My laptop has a Discrete Radeon 9000 Mobility with 64 megs of dedicated ram that breaks 7000 points in 3dmark 2001, that one has a Radeon 9000/9100 IGP with system memory which unless Im looking at the wrong thing gets around 3700 points in 3dmark 2001. And according to acer my laptop has apx 4 hours of battery life, compared to apx 1.5 hours for the 2201.

THG review of the 803LCI which other than a bigger HD and faster CPU is AFAIK identical.

Now dont get me wrong I dont think this laptop is still worth the $1900 it used to cost new, My gut instinct is saying between $800~$900 but again im not realy sure what the real value is.
