NVidia Quadro FX Go 1400 - Page 2

Smeggy,

I have a quadroFX700go right now on my M60. When I run 3DSMax I have ZERO artifacts or display anomalities. Besides, the Maxtreme drivers make viewport display much faster that OGL. Also I have no problems whatsoever with Rhino 3D (even in the new display pipeline in V4). Before switching to Max I was running Maya PLE here too, also no problems whatsoever. On the other hand I keep on hearing people with issues in one 3D package or another with any other card. After you go Quadro, you never go back. I really don't miss having those sort of problems.

Has Adam or anybody else pre-annouunced dates for the WUXGA screen? I think I heard april, but I don't remember where. Or maybe I just made that up?

Who the hell knows when Alienware will update the MJ12m again. They think they're so hot $h!t that they can charge more and give you less. And I just don't trust Eurocom enough to buy from them. Maybe it's because they have never responded to an email when I asked questions about their systems. So Sager and PCTorque, please please please slap a Quadro into a 9860 or even a whole new system (when the Quadro is released, of course. Looks like early March from what I've seen, but I can wait).
I just bought the M70 and it is far from a POS. The M70 is smaller, more solid and all around better built than the m60. Yeah, I gave up my first born to get it, but I take my design work seriously. I run Catia V5 and it runs as smooth as silk with absolutely no hang ups while in Product (assembly) mode and in full real time rendering. If you run a serious program like Catia V5 which runs in the high six figures as far as cost and annual fees, then buying a laptop for demos and design work is for about 5k to 6k is nothing. It will do nothing but benefit you in the long run. If anyone is serious about MCAD or solid modeling, IMHO, get some Catia training, then go look for contract work on ceweekly.com. $40.00/hr with OT is heaven!!!
