New tv software

Although it looks exactly like the one bundled, it's the version from the desktop, so i insalled the bundled drivers, and the software from this package, it looks better (to my like) and you still have the remote, AND it fixed all my recording issues!
It records plainly beautiful, and any other player can play it (at least wmp), but it does disable the max resolution (720xsomething) If you are having problems with recording, give it a try.

HI ZACHQUIEL
I GOT MY 8886 ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO, IT'S MY SECOND SAGER (THE OTHER IS A 8650V), I LOVE IT, I KNEW I WOULD. THANKS TO THE FORUM I WAS PREWARNED ABOUT THE QUIRKY CAPTURE SOFTWARE. I COULD GET THE TV WORKING VERY WELL BUT IT WOULD'NT RECORD. SUFICE IT TO SAY, I TRIED ALL THE RECOMENDATIONS FROM THE FORUM HERE TO NO AVAIL. LAST NIGHT (LATE) I DOWNLOADED INTERVIDEO'S WIN-DVR.....WORKS LIKE A CHARM....NO BRAINER....AND IT'S WORTH THE $49. THE ONLY THING IS THAT I HAVE TO LEAVE THE AVER SOFTWARE ON THE MACHINE, IF I DELETE IT I CAN'T GET INTO DEVICE MANAGER. WELL GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MACHINE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Glad to hear there are some other options... mine worked without any problems, and I recorded tons of VHS tapes and made VCDs... I liked the software it came with, lol. :-)

Hey beeb, do you get any sound de-sync? Some of my videos have the sound desynced (i fix this through premiere), but its annoying to have to do it each time i record something (at least the final result ends in divx)

Any ideas?

I found a pretty cool recording software, try PowerVCRII from cyberlink, it can record and encode into meg2 in realtime, and it works perfectly with the tv tuner, with no desync, and looks as good as dscaler, if anyone wants this, go and try it, im pretty pleased with it.

I got no desync at all... and I even burned a cd at the same time I was recording. I was playing a VHS tape though, not watching tv... so it might have to do with the reception, but I doubt it. Glad to see lots of programs compatable with the tuner!
