Dockable Laptop, what is a good choice?

I'm in the process of looking for a laptop, the only real requirement is that it is new and it's dockable. Here is a list of things that are most important to me and things that don't matter

1. Must be dockable: Have a docking station that includes audio, VGA, power, ect.

2. DVD player/CD-RW (this is probablly standard on most)

3. Price: my upper limit in price is around $1000, including dock

4. Speed: This falls way below the first 3, anything from a centrino 1.6 and up with 512mb preferbally.

Here is what is not important:
1. Video: I won't be playing any games with this machine, 32mb video ram would be more then enough

2. Screen size: any size will do.

3. Power consumption/battery life: not important.

I want something that is portable but most of it's life will probablly be spent in the docking station, maybe taking it out 3-4 times a week. I'll be doing mostly standard stuff like internet browsing, MS office, blah blah, and DVD ripping and encoding.

Just looking for some model numbers/manufacturers to point me in the right direction, thanks.

I don't think that Sager has dockping stations, just for reference to narrow your search. I'm guessing that any port replicators would work though.

Good luck searching.

The Sony A series with it's docking station is pretty impressive...expensive..but impressive...

The A-Series docking station is great, but I'm not a big fan of the A-series in general - it strikes me as overpriced and creaky.

you *may* be able to spec out a Dell inspirion to your liking, at a price that you *may* find bearable. However, I dont trust the Inspirion series. The latitudes are nice computers, however they are a little more expensive. Dell makes docking stations for both models.
