Won't Hibernate

Thread Starter
I am trying to enable hibernate through the power options, but everytime I do a notice pops up with "Power Policy Manager unable to reserve hibernate file." It also says that the process cannot be acess due to use by another file. I have tried shutting down and then enabling and still same message. I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and is there a way i can fix it.

are you using the omega drivers? iirc they had a problem with this.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but try enabling hibernate in safe mode. Reboot your OS and hit F8 until you see the option for safe mode. If there are any drivers inteferring with this, then this might allow you to enable it. I don't know if the settings will stay after you boot normally though.

It is definately a software problem. datakeeper and alcohol 120% are two known culprits. Do you have either of these installed? Datakeeper will keep from working, period. It will work with Alcohol installed, but must be enabled before Alcohol is installed. I'm sure there are others that cause issues also, but these are the only two that I know of that will give that specific error.
