I recently flashed my ASUS M6N BIOS to the latest version (BIOS 0211A).
This was done through the Windows XP interface using ASUS's own BIOS update software. The update was executed sucessfully. However, now, when I (warm) reboot my machine in XP, the system will power down, but will then display a black screen indefinitely. This requires that I manually power off the machine by holding down the power button. I can then re-power on the machine with the power button.
This doesn't happen on every reboot, but enough to seriously annoy me. Very often, I'll get the black screen if there is a CD in the drive, but sometimes it will happen without a CD as well.
So, essentially, this BIOS update has caused sporadic problems with rebooting. I can now only power down (cold) if I want to restart the machine with no problems.
Any ideas as to how to fix this? Many thanks . . . .
