Can i ask which Canada Computers you got this from? I live in Kingston and have one near me. I just ordered one over the phone and got someone that was hard to understand. I kept saying "S5N" and thought she heard me, until at the end she was like "M as in Mandy? Ok, pick it up next week bye."

M as in Mandy? Ugh.. hope they ordered the right one!

edit: I sent them an email, I hope they read it... telling them the correct model. I'm almost positive they ordered the M5N instead.

LOL... I live in toronto so I got it in north york location. There was a non-asian guy working there so i had no problem communicating with him.

I went down and talked to her. AGAIN she said "M as in Mandy?" I really have no clue what she was talking about. I ended up getting her to go to the site and pointed to it. She was like "ohhh... S!"

Anyway, they had to order it, and said it should be in next week.

I was searching for other reviews, and came across a bunch of rebates:

The first one is for March, the second for last month. UNFORUNATELY, It's U.S. only Lucky americans get a $150 rebate AND a free 9-cell battery!

I am new here. I accidently ran across the S5N while researching the Averatec, and I am glad I found the S5N (and you guys and gals). It's the exact notebook I've been looking for to replace my 10lbs HP zd7000. I was considering the Averatec, the 700M, the VAIO, Portege, and the ibook G4. In the S5N, I got the best of both world: look (pearl white as in the ibook) and compatibility with my collection of Win Apps. Within 30 min of reading about the S5N here, I placed an order for one at Proportable.com. I also got the extra 512MB memory, the 9 cell battery & $150 rebate (the last two items are for all orders from 3/1/05 to 3/31/05). I just want to say thanks to all for the S5N info and for pointing me to a great company like Proportable. Can't wait for it to come!

If only it had a dedicated video card...

but asus sure know how to spoil their customers - 2 cool carry cases AND a wireless QQ mouse?? wah....

is the the screen on the s5n the reflective type or the matte type?

The screen is NOT reflective.... just your regular matte finish
