Tuner option for notebook-help?

I am buying a notebook soon and was looking into my options for a tuner option. Was debating between Win TV-PVR USB2 and the Avermedia Pcmcia card.

The main reason I want the tuner is to be able to capture tv shows etc. and burn to Dvd, and not just watch on the notebook.

I have satellite, and want to know first which will work with satellite, next does it matter whether the notebook has integrated or dedicated graphics?

Thanks for the replies. I am fairly new at this stuff.

I have the PVR2 USB2. Mine is hooked to cable so I get the 60 or so unscrambled, non digital channels available. It has composite and S-video in, so you can record from a satellite receiver but it will only record the channel the satellite receiver is tuned to. I like it because it has built in MPEG encoding, meaning the saved files are already compressed for DVD or VCD use. External encoding also doesn't tie up your processor as much. Connection to the laptop is thru a single USB cable instead of a breakout cable so installation is cleaner, too.

Thanks for the reply. One other thing. Does it matter whether you have deicated video or integrated, as far as the quality you end up with when you record?

No, it may affect how smoothly video is played back tho. With the Hauppauge USB vs USB2 does matter quite a bit.

So if I get the Usb2 with integrated graphics, will I be ok?

If you can watch DVD on your laptop, TV will be no problem.
