I updated my Dell 600m BIOS to A16 as well as my girlfriends 8600 to the A12. However when I check under My Computer properties the computer is always at the max speed or so it says. However, I remember in the past that it would flucuate in what it reported. Usually it would say something like 598 at idle. Anyways it does not do this anymore. Funny thing is battery life remains the same(4 hours on mine, 5 hours on the 8600) and speedswitch actually reports the correct speed.
