First Batch....

I am completely confused about this whole shipping and first batch business. I ordered my 8890 on the 9th at 1230 am, and ordered second day shipping. What excatly is the first batch, shouldn't all preorders be in the first batch(THUS THE PREORDER). Now from what I understand I should be recieving it either monday or tuesday next week(Aug. 25-26). If I'm wrong in this assumption, someone please clarify what is going to happen......all input would be great

I would like to know this too.

That was the main question I had when I posted the shipping thread, hopefully someone from pc torque will post a reply in this thread or that one.

Adam, or anyone else, I think this confusion should be cleared up

Try to give adam a break, i'm sure he's got A LOT to deal with with all these orders coming in and the 8890's shipping. If you really need something answered send him an e-mail.

Besides, he's been jerked around a little bit by Sager about shipping dates. Not only is he not 100% certain that the 22nd is the correct date for the first batch of 8890s to be shipped, but the best he can tell us is what he is being told.

Patience... it will come. Let's not rush this too much, imagine sending it back because your order was rushed through inspection to meet a deadline, and there are dead pixels everywhere, or worse, the damn thing won't turn on!

I want mine just as much as you do!

If you want the best, Sager, then you must weather this...

Cheers,

The only reason that I am worried is because I am leaving for college on the 29th and need it, at latest, by the 28th.

Im waiting for the first batch after coloring is offered.. Yes I know that will delay my reception of laptop, but i think it will be worth it... and the wait on delivery after it's painted and shipped shouldn't be long since I am in Florida....

I spoke with Sagernotebooks this morning, they supply to resellers like PCTORQUE.

The first shipment includes the number of units supplied by SagerNotebooks, if your order is after the 500+ units, then you have to wait for the second, third, etc. shipment to come in from SagerNotebooks to PCTORQUE.
is that 500 per reseller or 500 total???
I would imagine 500 total...

stealth2785, You should have no problem getting yours...

Worse comes to worse, you could have it shipped to your university if you are not among the first batch.

I cannot imagine that the second or third batch is going to be that much longer than the first. Supply and demand...

Cheers buddy,

I wonder if the second batch will include the paint option?

Sager dropships unless you are in ca and then PcTorque has them ship to them first to get around the high CA tax.. so sager will ship ordered sagers direct to customer when they ship.. at least that's how ive always understood it..
yeah...i've also read that there are around 500 sagers in the first batch total. thats for sagernotebooks and their resellers. i think after a week of pre-orders pctorque had 200+. i believe the paint option will be available two weeks after the first batch ships (shipping aug. 22..hopefully ) so first or second week of september for that. the 5680's will ship around the 29th (tentative) for all u 5680 fanboys/girls

this is the reply i got to my email when I asked about the first batch thing.......

According to Sager it is still supposed to begin shipping the 22nd.
They have a few thousand orders and will ship out a few hundred per day.
They have not provided the resellers any list of who is scheduled to go
out which day.

Thanks,

Bummer! A few hundred a day? I suppose guessing when they will ship your notebook is not easy. I assume I was one of the first 10 or so to order an 8890 from PCTORQUE but who knows how many orders Sager received from other resellers.

I sent a quick e-mail to PCTORQUE and it turns out i was the first one by 12 seconds to order from them, and from what he knows the "first order Sager received from any reseller".

First one in the US to order a 5680 BABY!!!
