My Toshiba 1900 has the old, slow USB port. So recently I bought a Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2 Card to try to improve transfer times between my Archos MP3 player and the laptop. Bad mistake.
The Belkin seems not to function at all and the original Tosh USB port has got choosy - it accepts some devices quite happily (e.g my Disgo drive and my Archos music player), but when I try to connect my much more vital iPAQ or Sony PDAs I get a message saying that USB is not available on this laptop!!
Hence I can't synch my business kit - not good.
I've tried to track down the Belkin software loaded on the Tosh and remove it but I can't trace it (there is no Uninstall facility and no obvious directory has been created by the Belkin install).
I assume my original USB driver has been corrupted, but I can't find a Toshiba USB driver on the Web.
Any thoughts about what I should do - I am hamstrung by this irritating problem.
