just got my new fujitsu siemens amilo a 7640 and it's brilliant! its my first laptop and i am very pleased with it, i got a deal on it so it cost €781 (believe it or not). here are the specs:

AMD Athlon XP-M 3200+
512mb RAM (2x256mb)
Dvd+/-RW
60gb 7200rpm
2 year garentie
2.5cm Thick!!!

you could just order a mitac 8050, it's the same model, except without the fujitsu-siemens logo and stuff. (fujitsu siemens get their notebooks from mitac)

yah, I like fujitsu, some models quite not bad. It is sad that it is not available in USA , well at least in regular electronic stores...

im talking about fujitsu siemens, there is a big difference, fujitsu siemens laptops are rebranded. i dunno if fujitsu make their own laptops?

That is most definitely NOT a Mitac 8050.

But why AMD XP-M?! Not AMD64, Not Pentium-M....XP-M? Hmm a bit outdated technology no?

By the way, it is not a MITAC 8050. Mitac 8050 is an Intel Pentium-M base with ATI 9700.

This is AMD XP-M based. Looks like a Mitac design or a Uniwill design though.

normally it would cost €956 but have a friend who's dad works at the british embassy, so if u have something sent to the embassy then u dont have to pay tax, and here in austria we have %20 tax...

Realise this is probably a long shot as this thread is kinda old but was hoping you could help me. I am thinking of getting this laptop. Have you played any games on it? What could it handle, im really just interested in Counter Strike Source.
