It is a kick ass AMD..

i hope you meant it is a battery life optimised CPU..

I tihink he was talking about the M400A. But the Centrino is definetly NOT bad for games at all.

1)The purpose of Athlon's rating system is to ensure that you get numbers that are, for the most part, indicative of performance. A 3200+ Low Power Mobile will perform at levels near a 3200+ DTR. If you want a 3700+, you're out of luck with the mobile, but even a 3200+ is still a damned strong CPU and will work quite well for gaming.
2)This isn't a Centrino (Pentium M) notebook, this is a Turion (Athlon 64-M) notebook.
3)Pentium Ms are good contenders when it comes to gaming, and frequently have performance results fairly similar to those of Athlon 64s and Pentium 4s.
4)The graphics card is more important than the CPU, and it's an X700, similar in performance to a desktop 9700 Pro and better in some cases.

All in all, once the laptop is released, it should be quite the mobile powerhouse, with the 4.5 hours battery life, the A64 CPU, and the X700.

With AMD 64 you get better performance, especialy in games, you get a 64 bit CPU wich is where everything will be at, just like with the transition from 16 bit to 32 bit, it's just part of the PC evolution. To me there is no reason to buy a centrino unless you need those extra minutes of batterytime while traveling, but that should change once the Turion 64 comes out. The article states the thermal ceiling is as low as 25W for som Turion 64 models. Any AMD64 CPU is good enough for games, it's just a matter of pairing it with a worthy GPU.
