I am currently running a 2.4 GHz cpu and am limited to the older P4 cpus..my motherboard is a 533 MHz FBS comp that is three years old from Gateway. Anywho, I am wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to a 2.8 GHz processor. I don't have the money right now to get a new system and would like to get every last drop I can out of my computer before I get a new machine. I would overclock my 2.4, but since my computer is a Gateway, the BIOS is locked. So, my only option for a fast cpu is to upgrade to a new one. I really would like to get the 3.06 GHz cpu, but every place I look either doesn't have it or is sold out. Since it is an older cpu, I doubt a big supply will be found any time soon, if at all. So, what do ya'll think..go for the 2.8, keep looking for the 3.06 or stick with my 2.4?
