Questions about the Gateway 7422GX

Thread Starter
I'm in the market for a new laptop. I would like to know if anyone has any 3DMark scores they care to share with me.
It should be right around 10k on 3dmark01(my M6810 scores 9500). And since these 9600s overclock so well, you should see 12k easily overclocked.
Out of the box, my m6805 scored 9100 on 3DMark01.

I recall reading someone else's review online, and they tweaked theirs up into the 12k range.

What about the hinge problem they use to have? do the new ones still have that problem?
I pulled 11765 on 3DMark 2001 after tweaking the system:

i got 3100 on 3dmark03 with omegas and max oc. as far as i can tell with the newer gateway models, hinge durability isnt a problem. also remember the 7422 comes with the ati 9550. good luck

What were you able to OC to? I ran mine at 445/227.

Holy Crap!

Thats a 50% overclock on the core. My next question, is it stable for long periods of use?
Most of the GPUs in these machines will handle over 400MHz on the core and remain rock solid for long periods of time. They are grossly underclocked from their potential.
atitool gave me max values of 436/236 and i didnt push farther than that. its a pretty modest number, as ive read some people here reaching 480s. getting the max was just for curiosity and if i oc i keep it at the middle, 368/218.

on max, i ran my tests and artifacted on the 2nd one (2 trolls and a lady) but it didnt happen on any other tests.

Do you know if the video card is integrated on the motherboard (I would assume so based off info from the box) or if it is on a seperate card like other radeon mobility's. Just trying to figure out the cost involved with a damaged chip.
yes it is integrated on the motherbaord

I'll put it this way: I've played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and MOH: Spearhead all the way through in one session before. I've also sat down for extended sessions playing Halo, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, & Doom 3 without the card acting up.
