i've always been happy with my sager 8887 but i do have a few problems, and if i fixed these problems i'd be perfectly happy with my 8887.

1. my tv-tuner isn't detected in my device manager and doesn't work at all since i've gotten it.

2. my usb drives are screwed up only one works and sometimes it just shuts my mouse off (this could be just my mouse) but my other usb's just dont detect anything in the device manager and don't work at all. (i've tried updating my drivers already)

3. sometimes my computer will just freeze and i can't do anything, and its not like i was doing anything very intensive just randomly sometimes the computer will freeze and i will have to restart.

any answers guys?

For the TV Tuner drivers, go into the Device Manager and right click on either one and point to the drivers folder (either on the CD or a download if you got the updated ones from Sagernotebook.com).

The TV Tuner drivers are not installed with the installation program that puts the TV utilities on (oddly enough).

As for the USB thing, are you running windows 2000 or XP? There are some USB2.0 patches for 2000 on the driver CD... shouldn't need to do anything for XP.

Have you updated your BIOS ever or lately? Freezing sounds suspicious. If you can, update the BIOS (as one option).

A less sensitive option would be dependant on answering these questions:

Has it ALWAYS done this Freeze? (or the USB problem for that matter)
If you re-format and re-install do the problems persist?
If they are recent problems, what programs have you installed lately?
Is AUTO-UPDATE on? If so, turn it off and go back a restore point or two until the symptoms are gone.
I actually got the same random freezing problem. The thing would freeze when I'm just running winamp 2. I would like some info on this problem too.

It's not all that amazing... Standard windows problems.... My desktop does the random freezing thing too, usually when I right click on something. The thing is, windows doesn't even give you any debugging info, so you have no clue what the problem is. According to windowsupdate, it's a "driver" problem. Odd how it fails to mention which driver!

Well when it gives you the "Windows has recovered from a serious error" message. and then you click to send the error report, a webpage will popup telling you what went wrong, it says its a driver error but doesn't tell you which one.
I"m not 100% but I'm pretty sure its the display driver. Considering that after I got that message I rolled back to the drivers that came with the cd, and all worked fine.

I know about the right click freeze thing. But I mean windows will just sort of lock up for a whole minute if the only program I'm running is winamp2. Which really sucks because it plays half a second of a song over and over and over till the freezing thaws.
