Sager 4381 unbootable

I patiently waited for discountlaptops.com to send me my order of sager 4381. Finally got it and man am I pissed.
First of all it starts up just fine and I install windows xp pro. During windows installation everything is perfectly fine. I start windows for the first time; alas the thing just shuts off and restarts. I ignored this and just restarted and windows booted fine. I began installing drivers. Then heartbreak, the built in wifi for which I paid an extra $65 was not included. Okay, so I will just email discountlaptops.com, no big deal. Then I noticed three dead pixels at the left side of screen, this was not a huge issue just slightly annoying, and okay to live with.
Well I get all drivers installed and decide to mess with the built in camera. Wham! Again another faulty part, the camera does not work. So far, wifi, camera, and bad pixels are my problems. Then suddenly the computer freezes as I attempt to email discountlaptops.com-then I was really mad. I boot up again but this time it freezes even sooner. The third, fourth, etc… to now it freeze at the bios. I have not been able to boot windows ever since, even the post boot. I don't even see the post boot screen now.
It seems I just got an all around rip-off piece of junk, a $1500 paperweight.
I noticed this notebook got extremely hot. I wonder if heat is the cause of my problems. Could such heat render a notebook unstable and, eventually unbootable? Mind you this all happen in about two hours upon receipt of the notebook and most of that time was spent installing XP and drivers. I should also point out the notebook was in a cool flat surface the entire time and running from AC power.

Oh yeah, what coincedince. I just noticed I didn't get a warrenty card, or even an invoice which I must have, and activated, upon reciept of my notebook or I am denied any possible warranty. discountlaptops.com wins, I guess am screwed.

Yes, overheating will cause any computer to do that. Your lockup/reboot issues are most likely caused by the heatpipe (the cooler on the processor) being installed incorrectly or being knocked loose in shipping. I'd lean towards being knocked loose personally as all that damage sounds to me like the delivery company knocked it around a bit, though missing invoice and warranty card sound very strange. I'd call them and complain. Don't yell and scream as nobody will help you then, just let them know u are upset and explain why, I'm sure someone will help you.

Keep us updated either way. If need be I'm sure someone here will be able to help point u in the right direction. Contacting sager themselves could be an option if discountlapops.com doesnt' do anything.

good luck and sorry to hear about your issues.

I called discountlaptops.com's emergency help line and they have pretty good support it seems. I will be shipped a new notebook monday 2nd day air at no cost to me, and they will also supply me a shipping label to return for the defect. I guess I will see if they can fix their mistake.
