7700 update: new video card - ATI X800 256MB GDDR3 Memory - Page 2

post #21 of 34
looking at the comparisons online the ati and nvidia are benching pretty comparitively with gameplay. seems to be more of a choice than anything else. the ati may have a few frame advantage for some games, and the nvidia pulls ahead in a few. if you're talking raw power the ati seems to be the faster card, but in game performance seems to be pretty comparable. this may change as the developers further adapt and expand their drivers.

This is what you boys can expect on the X800. FEEL THE POWER!

Well, after 20 hours or so after I did my AS5 reapp. and got my clocks to 490/1002, I decided to run 3dmark03 and 05. I waited about a day cause I wanted the AS5 to "settle" in. Below are my scores. At first I couldn't believe it. I thought that I may had made a mistake. But I ran them both another 5 times and played HL2 and CS:Source for about 3 hours and indeed no lock ups or artifacts. Behold! My kick @$$ Mobility X800 XT PE SE OC BIOTCH!

My current OC on 4.12 Omega Drivers.

My '03 Scores. Just like I predicted.

Now this was a surprise! I expected 4700 but never this! I ran this bad boy 5 additional times just to make sure! That CPU test sure sucks to wait through!

I have reached a plateau on OC'ing. I believe I will stop here until the Nvidia boys try to beat my scores. GOOD LUCK !

I don't have a digital thermometer but I will pick one up at Radioshack tomorrow. However, according to mobmeter, my system(cpu) temp is Idling at 40 degrees. And since I have been doing all this OC'ing, the temp has not gone up.

the nvidia card you only have to overclock and benchmark only once and you know it will be stable.where the ati card you have to overclock and benchmark an additonal 5 times just to make sure.

Hibiki are you entirely aware that 99% of your posts contain one of the following o_o, O_O;;;, <3, ^_^, >_>, XD, D:, "gomen", "ne" or some sort of face. I'm positive you're not Japanese either. BTW you don't need a graphics card such as the go6800 or mr x800 to run Ragnarok Online 1/2. This game IS NOT graphics intensive. Even an integrated card would do fine for those types of games. Please keep the cutesy act for a less mature forum.

actually not sure how long its been since you've last played RO, but its starting to get graphics demanding, even a 64mb card nowadays isn't pumping out all the lighting,visual, colors it has, My current laptop Compaq 3000 T series with IGP ATI 9000 sux with it, while the lcd I thought might be for blame isn't really the issue because older games and other things look the same on it, iRO now is best viewed 128 or higher, course granted mines an IGP , so thats the downside even being at 128, My old comp which is now a dedicated Halo/anime server at home has only a 128 mb nvidia FX 5200 ultra and RO looks beautiful on that baby, hence my asking about colors and such, since RO is directx geared towards direct 3d but can use Open GL, that was my question, and I did note earlier , ( if its in another forum I apologize but seeing as you've been following up on my posts of emotes and such hopefully you've seen that I plan on getting this for more than just RO o_o;;

Ragnarok online 2 I know will def most require 128 minimum after viewing the screens, in face I"m sure you'll need at least 256 to keep up with it as seeing from games already being released D: ,

As for the faces and such my apologies I didn't know they were offensive, its just my way of expressing my words I believe people are entitled to more than just the emotes on the sides ?
