What's the best jumpdrive out their for the money?
I have a Lexar JumpDrive 128mb now. I have two problems with it now:
1, it is too small. And 2, it is purple.
How big of a drive do you recommend?

A few months ago I got a Lexar 1gb secure jump drive for just under $40 after instant savings and a rebate. I think it was at compusa. I wasn't going to get one this big, but for the price, I couldn't pass it up. There's no telling what you will need to put on it later. So if you can find a good deal, get a 1gb.

Check Newegg, they have sales fairly frequently. I'd go 512 or 1gb.

1GB, heck if you listen to music go buy one of those ipod shuffles. Only a couple bucks more and you can listen to music with your data.

Certain Lexars might not fit in certain machines. I bought a 256 Lexar and it wouldn't fit in the front of my 4600 because of the small plastic cover.

Yeah, I have trouble fitting my lexar into my Gateway desktop. The USB port on the front is RIGHT next to part of the case that jets out. You probably didn't understand that...

Hey Slam, I had the same problem with my Gateway case. So, I use a port on the back of my machine, but am hoping to get a USB hub in the near future. I have a 256 MB secure Lexar Jump Drive...I really like it, but I agree with others...go big, mine is still okay, but kinda small when I have to download ee stuff to it.

I recommend the Sandisk Micro Cruzer USB Jump Drive. The size is just right, not too small. Besides looking very cool (it's silver), it has a neat blue LED to let you know it's working. I got mine at office depot but alot of other stores have it too.

I had a Lexar Secure USB Jump Drive before this one and it just all of a sudden stopped working. I had so much school work on it including my personal webpage and it's all lost now. I wouldnt ever buy one of those again.

Frontier--how big is yours?

Mine is 256mb. I knew I would never fill it up with just papers, presentations, programming and such so I didnt go for anything larger.

I have a Lexar 512 Secure Jumpdrive, When you go for the 1GB they are slower. And WHAT THE HELL could you possibly want to carry around in your pocket that is 1GB! HONESTLY. go for the 512 FAST, Cheaper, and it is really all you need. you prolly don't want Lexar though if you have a gateway I haven't had any problems, although I have dell. Your call.

Who makes the smallest USB2 flash drive? It must be thin and smaller than a key with a keyring clip.

Edit: The Cruzer Micro has served me very well. There are 3 Sizes of it, 128 MBs, 256 MBs, and 512 MBs. There is also a MP3 player companion for it!

Yes, my 128MB Lexar Secure Jumpdrive really did die. I have it right here and visually there's nothing wrong with it. I love the Sandisk Cruzer Micro, the LED is very bright too.

unless things have changed, all the 1gig usb thumbdrives really only run at usb1 speeds. They may list usb2 on the packaging, but they are pathetically slow.
