So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review
by Djembe
One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
I actually know that the 'official' pronunciation is uh-seuss' from talking to their tech support once or twice. (Which was excellent, btw.)
To keep it on topic, I wish they were planning to release something to compete with the Acer 8100 series a little more. I'd be all over it, with the new look and tricked out specs...
I'm just pissed off that i already scratched my less than one week old m6ne....i guess it's going to happen. A great machine by the way.
Yeah... I have a couple of scratches on mine too nothing too noticeable, but I know it's there.
What sucks even more is that the silver paint is somewhat starting to come off ...(the silver lining near the LEDs at the front)
Now that you bring that up i can see where the silver paint is real thin and scratches off easily. They should have left it unpainted, or used silver plastic or something.
I think we're going to see a few different things from Asus in the next 6 months to a year...remember there were reports that they are going to try and become a "brand" here in the U.S. - similar to how they are in Australia and Europe. So it is only natural that there will be reshuffling and whatnot...it just sucks to have to wait and see.
And I swear it's probably just because I'm retarded and from Baltimore, but does anyone else horribly pronounce the manufacturer's names...
For example, even though I know it's ah-sous, I still say aey-sus for Asus
or it's supposed to be a-re-ma, but I say air-ra-ma for Arima
I'd say that arima should be ah-ree-ma, due to my japanese background. could be wrong though.......
You could sand it off (with super high grit sandpapar, atleast 600-800, if not 1000-1200), then use some polishing compound like the stuff used on cars after being color sanded (did it to my 63' falcon). Or just start with a semi rought 400 and then move up to 100, but i would be real hard to get the whole silver area due to the compuond curves and such. Or you could try using the special paint remover made for plastics, and then leave it the native black color. Or just get one and say that the paint coming off just shows how much you use it and don't worry about the vain image aspects of a great performing notebook.....
Is it possible to remove the entire silver frame ya think? ;-)
The silver frame is almost the only thing keeping me from buying the M6Ne 15" SXGA.
//The silver doesn't look bad at all, just sucks that it scratches off when handled rough. I wouldn't let the silver deter you from buying an excellent notebook. It rocks....
