waiting waiting waiting

Ok people help me out here. I bought a 7700 about a month ago and was told ship date was 8th of feb . I paid for the machine the day I ordered it on jan 9th. It has gone through the phases 4through 7 in 20 days I am now in phase 8 and its the 5th so it is not going to ship on the 8th like I was told.
I have major buyers remorse and wished to god I would have ordered the sager. They ship out thier machines 2 days after its paid for. With the sager being only 60 more than the 7700 with the same hardware config and A couple of things actually better I want to know can I cancel my order.
I already regret buying a machine that takes over a month to receive. its absurd and The way I see it is it should be first come first serve which isnt thier standard, obviously. This would be the only company I have ever heard of that cant get a 2700 dollar product that is paid for to the customer within a month. to me there is no excuse for this kinda lag I thought 14.4 was obsolete now but leave it to a.lienware to bring slow back to the fast paced world. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

For $2700 AW can afford to pay OT to keep up with delivery dates.

Making an Alienware computer is not as simple as making most others. Many people want to own one, which means that there are wait times. Many parts in the laptop you want are in high demand which means longer wait times. Even on the website it states that ship times may vary due to parts, etc. Did you call Alienware and ask them if you can cancel your order? Have you called Alienware to check on the status of your order? Let me take some time here to help you, for I can predict the future...
1. You call Alienware and ask to cancel.
2. A salesperson will tell you that you can cancel, but you have waited this long, I am sure it will ship on this date.
3. You decide that an extra week wont kill you, and you wait.
4. A week comes and you get you laptop. You are ecstatic over it's unbelievableness(tm) and post here stating OMGozzle this thing rocks OR!
4a. A week goes by and no laptop, you post here again going nuts over being sans laptop. We all post "hang in there" "You will be happy" "PM this guy" "Call Alienware" etc. You wait so more.
5. See number 4.
What you are experiencing is Phase-omgiwantmahalienatitis. It is common to all of us. Some wait more. Some wait less. Read through the forums. You will see what I mean. The majority are extremely happy with their Alienware, as I am sure you will be too.

You sound irritated, and you shouldn't be. These things take time, and everyone know what they are getting into when they buy an AW. If you knew you couldn't handle a month or more wait, why did you buy it in the first place?

catching new upgrades

as much as it may drive you crazy... on the other hand the best part about waiting is you may catch any last minute upgrades.

since ordering my system on 1/15 Alienware has upgraded Area-51m 7700 by adding more memory options, new processor and now new video cards so waiting does have its advantages... it also adds to the excitement trying to get all the latest and greatest before your system ships.
