Reccomend a portable mouse to use with my notebook...

...please

The majority of the time I use my notebook it is running of the ac/dc adapter. I have found operating the touchpad a little aggravating when I'm trying to work so I was looking for a mouse that would be portable enough that I could pack it up and take it with me when I'm on the go, but have a solid feel to it and not a cheap, 3 ounce plastic feel as I've had in my only other limited notebook mice experience. Wireless would be a nice little feature, but not exactly necessary. Optical tracking is a must. I don't use it for mission critical graphics design or gaming so it does not need a super high accuracy.

I've tried searching the forums, but don't have time to sort through the hundres of threads that come up when I query 'mouse'

Thanks for any suggestions.

P.S. For my previous desktop I've always used a logitech mx700 and thought it was just perfect. Maybe something like that, but not so heavy or accurate would be a good choice.

The second one has different colors. Newegg has a ton of mice, you can browse around and read reviews till you find something you like.

Hmm...I'm a logitech loyalist myself. They make some quality hardware. How does the logitech one for notebooks connect to the computer? That MS one looks cool, but just fom appearance I don't think I'd like the feel of it. Looks small too. Can anyone comment of the solidness of the logitech wireless for notebooks? I don't want some 2 ounce Frodo Baggins mouse. Need one for a man

i still recommend the benQ m310. check it out on benq.com there is another thread that isn't more than a week old, but i couldn't find it either.

I use a full size corded Logitech optical mouse. Those miniature mouses feel so, well, mousey. As for wireless, why have yet one more thing to screw up / use batteries? When I go mobile, I use a Velcro tie wrap to hold the cord. The mouse then fits right in the mouse holder pocket of my Harbor Freight Tools Leather Laptop Bag. And the best feature of my mouse is that when it breaks, I'm only out $7.95.

I use a tiny little Targus mouse. Nice and reliable, connects through USB, even has a retractable cord. It's as Frodo Bagginsy as you can get, though; you could easily palm it.

I got the Kensington Pocket Mouse LE - optical, retractable cord, & small enough to fit in a pocket or a laptop bag. I think they have replaced it with a newer model:

If you are looking for a corded mouse, Logitech MX510

If you are looking for a cordless and ultra-portable, Logitech V500. It is the hot bikini supermodel of cordless notebook mice.

make sure its a cordless mouse you're getting as they handy to use in presentations as you can walk around the room with an itchy trigger finger clicking

Kensington pocket mouse pro with retractable cord or the Anycom bluetooth mouse if you have intergrated BT

Logitech V500 best little mouse I have ever used.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The V500 looks tasty, but I can't afford that much for a mouse.

I use the Logitech mouseman traveller and I like it but according to some people it is ugly.

I use and recommend the Logitech MediaPlay

It's bigger than the average (tiny) notebook mouse, so it's comfortable over the long haul. Has a good solid feel to it. It also uses one of the small "jumpdrive-sized" USB transmitters and has an on/off switch. The range is extended (10+ feet for me) because it's supposed to double as a media remote control. I just toss it into one of those soft, sunglass pouches to protect it.

Logitech MX1000...best gaming mouse (cheaper, but good one is the MX510 red or blue)

An alternative for the best gaming mouse would be the razer diamondback, but i still prefer the boomslang. Boomslang 2 will be out this year.
