The truth is, they've been in business for over 17 years now without releasing info and just started doing it now that we have the Sager forums. It's a new thing for them. When we first started selling Sager, they would give a little info out if any, but usually it came down to all of a sudden one day there was a new model shipping instead of the one that was shipping. The only real clue we had for what was to be released was from looking at Alienware's website and what they had up for pre-ordering. Before the Sagerforums, there was NO sites that released info on upcoming Sagers including their own sales website. So, yes they have and would continue to get sales. I understand you not being happy about a hint of a delay, if there was something I could do to get everyone's laptops out this second, I would do it.

I hope you don't think I'm accusing anyone of anything.

I never said they didn't make the right decision. Since we don't know what all there decisions are, it would be hard to even say that I think.

Yeah, Adam is right Wessam. I wouldn't worry about that part, he can't do anything to make a difference so I would just keep listening to what he passes along.

Dang dude...what are your specs for that price?!

Well the 5680 doesnt ship till the 29th so by that stage they will probably have located all the problems by using the 8890 as a test platform and the 5680 will ship without issue.

Thats why I like to think of the 8890 and the "special" brother of the 5680. Sure its big and tough but something is just a little off with it that the parents got right in child number 2

Now if you will escuse me I need to go put on my asbestos suit.

The truth is I never ruled out that possibility. Once you've had one delay you don't rule out another. One question though, I have it on overnight shipping. If it ships on Monday, I should have it Tuesday right?

after i first posted the info...i was scared that there would be a flood of people emailing adam or sager...complaining about the delay. a few hours past...and there were no responses...and i thought wow..people r taking it okay...then i realized it was 6 in the morning. stuff happends...the world isn't perfect. as of right now...its 8 am...and hopefully this post won't become morbidly obese from flames. as adam already said...if they get more complaints...they just won't release any info to the resellers. just realize that u'll get a far better working product next week (hopefully)

edit: keep up the great work adam! (had to say it cuz it isn't said enough )

Well if it ship on Mon instead of Fri it's not going to make much of a difference. One thing I would like to know is if i'm going to make it in the first batch I'm 107.

Well wait and see I guess

It's a little hard to say... Powernotebooks is reporting 600 preorders... Pctorque got over 200 in the first two days of preorders... and Sager only make 500.... Do the math... we still don't know what the other vendors sold

Hmm, I don't think you info is right, I ordered on the Tues 11th

and I was number 107.

Ok, perhaps I exaggerated a bit. But still, Sager only made 500, and we don't have a clue what other vendors sold in that time frame...

You were 107 on Tuesday the 12th? YAY! That gives me hope! My check was processed on Tuesday, but I ordered the previous friday... I should have gone credit...

500th post.... YAY.

Personally I am very grateful Sager has kept this forum informed of product developments and delays.

I found this forum a few weeks ago, at that point I was preparing to buy the 8887, then I found out about the release of the 8890(through this forum). So I figured I would wait for the new model to be released,

I am thankful to sager as many other companies would not say anything until the release date and continue selling the older models upto the day of release of the newer models.

Sager has been upfront with us from the start, informing us of screen, card reader, wifi problems etc........ Based on this information I have decided to hang off and wait till all of the available options can be shipped with the computer as a single unit. Sager has made this decision possible for all of us. I empathise with your frustration at having to wait.

This has been one of the very few high ticket purchases where I feel confident the technology is not going to be obsolete tomorrow. For that I thank Sager and PCTorque.

CALM DOWN

Dont worry about delays. You cause yourselves unnecessary stress. I would be surprised if half the people here have ulcers. And trust me, companies can really do almosy anything they want without losing significant sales so dont threaten them to take your business some other place as that just pisses them off.

Problem

Now i must cancel my order, i need it by Friday next week, this is bad i realli want it but my aprents want me to have one when I go
post #55 of 124
The people of this forum are already suffering from severe physcological and emotional stress because of the delays... Just look at the "I had a dream" thread.... I mean, we're DREAMING about the thing already!

Thats basically all a consumer can do. What are you trying to say, sit tight as a company does anything they want with the product you paid for but just dont go somewhere else with your money as that will get the company mad?

8890-V / 2-60gb 7200 /dvd-rw/cd-rw / wireless internal 80211.b with router /bluetooth/ mp3/XP Pro/Office XpPro

I'll probably buy a couple more for my teenagers once I get the home wireless LAN up and secure. I am anxious to get my 8890, but I sure as heck don't want to send it back in to fix any glitches. Get it right the first time and

EVERYBODY GET OFF ADAM's BACK AREADY
I'm staying off Adam's back by not emailing him, I ordered at 6:30am the morning after the preorders became available. I need this laptop for school so if they are delayed for another week or I'm not in the first batch I'm canceling my order. I don't mind a pushed back shipdate..but I can only take so much.
