As far as water cooling being an expert user option; no way. If your pump dies you will hear it stop, it's like a failed fan and probably a bit louder when it goes. I have a buddy that’s a complete computer neophyte and he can maintain his H20 system. Not to mention that the ALX is based on the Koolance system which uses almost idiot proof fittings and equipment.
Like Tar said, can you add oil or coolant to your car? Then you’re gonna be ok. It's not rocket science, and you don't need a degree in fluid dynmics to make it work.
And I run only 1 120MM fan myself, on the radiator. Any noise beyond that is the DD pump.
