Hey built a computer and put a 200 gig harddrive in it. It only shows 127 gigs of that drive available. Im guessing it has something to do with raid but im wondering if you guys may have a quick fix. thx
Can't answer your question, but Ill add that I have three drives - a 40 gig that reads 37.4 or smaller, a desktop 60 gig that reads 58.something and another desktop 144 gig that reads 137... can't understand this -none are RAID - Im interested in any help too.
There is somthing not set up right in the BIOS or the jumpers are not correct on the hard drive its self. I would check for BIOS updates first then check the hard drive. Maybe also do a low level format to the hard drive. Just my 2 cents
It has something to do with LBA (Logical Block Addressing) 48-bit support in windows XP. It says you have to have at least windows XP with sp1 so it will recognize the HD over 137 GB. Google "LBA 48 bit" and you will find a lot of answers there.
