Getting better colors on my SXGA+

Ok, I just sold my old 600m with an XGA screen and am now having seller's remorse. Putting the two notebooks side by side, the XGA screen is noticeable more vibrant (esp in blues and reds) than the SXGA+. The darks are also darker. I've tried changing the gamma/brightness/contrast control on the ATI control panel, but they all seem to do the same thing. Both are using default color profiles.

Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone else know how I can get the SXGA+ to look better? Thanks

I got the 600m with sxga screen but can't compare as I never had and don't know of anyone who has the xga screen. We can try comparing pics if you want.

I'm gonna mess around with different color management profiles and report back what happens.

Probably not exactly what you want, but probably similar

If you tilt the screen a little fruther back, you'll notice the colors are a little richer.

I have an LG screen on my D600 (SXGA+) and colors are definetly weaker than my WSXGA+ (Hitachi) screen on my M60.

The screen also flashes sightly, like if the backlight was bad. I had the same issue with a Quanta screen in the past, but to a much lesser degree.

I belive that it has something to do with the fact that, unlike other high resolution screens around, this screens use a single channel LVDS (other two channel).

Greetings.
