HKDRV Driver is absend

At my Toshiba note book Satellite 3000-514( WXP Home edition service pack 2) I got the intializing error: HKDRV Driver is absent. Now I have no sound and I can not open the device manager. I have downloaded this driver ( Power Management Driver) from TOSHIBA, but I could not install it. I have no idea how I can solve this problem.
Maybe some one can give me an advice. Thank`s a lot!

If this is a very recent development, try doing a system restore back to a date before this problem happened.

The same thing just started happening to me. I can't figure it out either. Where did you download the file "Power Management Driver"? Could I appeal to you to email me the file? Or, have resolve the problem already? If so; could you tell me how you fixed it or send me by way of email whatever it is that you were given to fix it. If you paid money, let me know what you paid and I'll split the cost with you. Were you able to find out how the problem came about.
