just curious why there is such little discussion about IBM thinkpads. i've heard that they are the best quality notebooks.

|IBMs are solid and great... too bad they'll cost you an arm and a leg for a notebook with DECENT specs|
|I'm thinking about getting the IBM R51 for around $1150.00 with student discount. It will be my first laptop and be used for MS office apps, very light gaming, music, DVD's, and thats about it. I want a quality machine that will last me for several years and from what I've read the Thinkpad is the way to go. I also considered Dell, Apple, and several others, but the R51 seems to fit my needs. Any advice why or why not to get it would be helpful.|
