Upgrade or Buy New One (Laptop)

Hello. I have been thinking of upgrading or buying a new laptop. I want another memory chip and hard drive mainly for a better performance.

My laptop:

Celeron 2.4gig.
256Ram
30Gb Disk Capacity
Nvidia is my video card. (not sure the version, not the latest one)

I would like to know some idea on how much I need to spend for upgrading memory and hard drive. (what if I can spend $250)

Is it better to just get a brand new w/ Pentium M and other better components? (how much?)

I am happy as long as the processor, video card, ram and hdd are decent in gameplaying. I do not have to have the best laptop around.

Any tip would be appriciated. Thanks!

depends on the exact laptop.

celeron...ewww...go for a mobile Athlon64 of Intel Centrino with 2mb cache...if you want mobility, that is
