Sony PCG-K45 vs Toshiba A75-211

Hey guys, looking for some advice on choosing a laptop.

Its either the Sony PCG-K45, or a Toshiba A75-211.

Same price, same size screen, simliar hard drives, modems, weight, and warranty. Only differences are:

Toshiba:
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 538 w/ hyper threading. 3.2 ghz, 533 mhz

512 PC2700 , DDR333

ATI Mobility 9000IGP

DVD multidrive

Sony:
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 538 (no HT) 3.2 Ghz, 533mhz

512 PC2100 DDR266

ATI Radeon IGP 345M

CD-RW, DVD ROM (no dvd burner)

Which video card is better? Do I need hyperthreading? Any feedback would be appreciated

I have PCG-K37

I have PCG-K37. Main difference from 45 I believe is 1GB ram.
80 HDD. RW-DVD.

Battery life with 2 setting off the max in brightness is 1:10 hr.
Multitasking rocks with over 10 windows open.
Sony screen is abosolute. Better than truBrite of Tosh. I compared.

Forget it on serious or semi serious gaming on that VIdeo card.

DVD is like Hi Def..really. Just Great.

I love this Sony. Everything but that video card... and 1:10 battery life.
I brought at Costco for 1689$. Their policy is 6 months to return back
no questions asked. Try before buy and keep..thats their policy.
However as you load things on...and fall in love with this Sony....
it may never go back to Costco.

For productive work..non 3D... it maybe OK.

Tosh has breakdown records thats worst.
Sony has repair service record thats the worst. And Parts are expensive, not reasonable.
Thus buy extended warranty from good reputable source...with dependable
repair service.

God I love this Sony. The screen steals my heart. The keyboard is abosolute
feel. Plus so beautiful.
Check Sager 3790 if you want it all..... 5:30 hr battery life, ati 9700, fast,
builtin camera, 7-1 input card, bluetooth, up to 2GB ram.

Although, too late to help ervv173, I would strongly recommend not buying Toshiba, period. And, certainly not the A75. Last first, The A75 has had serious problems, since at least about December 04 (static causing freezes/crashes -- reported chassis problem, and heat dissipation (or lack thereof) issues). Also, Toshiba service support and customer relations, with regard to this issue has not been good.
I bought an A75-S229 in December and suffered through periodic system failures before finally taking it back to the retailer from whom I purchased it (BestBuy). Although, it took a day of exchanging cordial telephone calls, BestBuy did offer to replace the Toshiba with a comparable Sony.
Lessons Learned: (1) No more Toshiba; and (2) Continue to shop at BestBuy
