I finally got my 7700. One word wow. That describes the size and the power. Its everything they claimed and more. It is definately huge. But totally a powehouse. It did come with one dead pixle but it is barely noticeble. The only time you see it is when the screen is black. The screen is so big and clear you cant complain. Doom 3 is awesome on this bad boy. 2802 3d05 right out of the box I didnt change one thing.
The screen looks just like the sony vaio xbright.
Speakers are great for a laptop.
I have been running everything i can throw at it and hasnt even come close to freezing. My wife wants one now lol.
Web cam is pretty good not gonna film movies but does the job.
The only part of the beast that gets hot is the left side palm rest and pcmcia drive area. Not to bad though.
Noise- well the nosie is pretty damn quiet. Got to remember there is like four fans on this puppy. There has been a strange random noise that comes out of the fan on the left side seems like it might freeze up once in a while gonna keep an eye on that see what happens. Only seems to happen when coming out of sleep mode after you close it and open it back up it stops. If anyone has any info on it send it along. It would be aprreciated.
Mouse pad is sweet ass. now i know why they put it in that cool tin . Comes with a rubber mat.
Still havent recieved my cataloge yet hmm. Who cares i got the real thing.
Dont fret Windows XP pro sp2 on this baby is awesome. Tons of security options and networking stuff. A definate plus.
Battery Life- well havent tested it too much but after 10 minutes in the bathroom i was at 89%.
Damn fed ex is the culprate in any of alienware shiping problems. They came at 7 at night when i was working and told me i could not pick it up at the warehouse and that is would take 2 or 3 days to pick up and there customer depot. So i get home and it was delivered to my neighbors house who has lived there for 6 mos. Luckily she was nice. Her daughter started opening the smaller box. She appologized but i blaim fed ex. I talked with three people about picking it up and one of them told me I could the other two said it was not possible.
Well Ill review more later I am back to push this baby to the limits.
