Fans, either on or off depending on temp, no mid speeds?

My 8790 has dropped its temps radically since I did the Artic Silver onto the chip. One thing I notice now is that when it drops to 39 C, the fans shut off, then when it hits 49-50C they turn back on and drop the temps back down to 39C where it starts all over.
Anyone else have theirs functioning like this?
I am wondering why there arent any medium fan speed settings, and what is FN+F10 supposed to do? Mine just beeps.

I have the new bios 1.00.10 and the new ATI drivers for this bios installed.

Fn+F10 should cause your vans to go to maximimum speed. Then once they turn off, the fans should reactivate at about 50C and stay on until the temperature is at about 36C. The fan speed reduces as the machine gets cooler. Insure that the 1.00.10 version of the bios "flashes accross the screen" upon boot.

G-OMAHA how exactly does it work?

Ex. Push fn+f19 once, then twice? or hold down? what supposed to happen?

I hold down the function key and then depress the F10 a bit slowly for about 1/3 second. If it is too fast it won't work and if it is too slow it activated and deactivated in about 1/10th of a second - maybe that's where your beep is coming from (I can't get mine to beep).
