Changing button ctrls on Sat. 1800

I have a Toshiba Satellite 1800. How can I change the player associated to the console button controls? Right now, they seem locked on Windows Media Player for sound and WinDVD for video. I want WinAMP and PowerDVD instead. Can anyone help me out?

If you open an audio file with another program than the one which is now your default, a box should come up and ask if you would like to make this the default player. Should work the same for a video file.

WinAMP already is set as my default player for MP3 files. And I don't even have WinDVD installed on my laptop. Yet the control buttons are still associates to WMP and WiwDVD.
