Nice DarqHelmet. I just ordered an x6000 last week too. Got the same specs as you, except WSXGA+, a 100GB 5400rpm HD and the wireless w/ bluetooth. It was a pretty kickass deal compared to everything else i had looked at. By far the most solid overall system. I have friends who have the the other compaq models, like with 64-bit and whatnot, and their systems run rather nicely. I was thinking about getting a dell 9200 at first, but then saw the pricing on this and had to get it. Hope you have fun with it, this will probably be the slowest February ever.

Yes i think that it will be the slowest 2 wks I have had in a Long time. Congrats on your new LT. I thought about getting the bigger HD but i have a desktop if i need to store things long term.

Thanks HellKnight it's so pretty i want it already. Hows the temps on it when you play gamez. Also what is the silver box with the 44 on the LCD?
temperatures are around 62 degrees c when playing games

and when just surfing, listening to music or word processing, they are around 52 degrees C

i use this program to read temps

To HellKnight: How does the screen looks? I just purchased a Dell 9200 and the screen is a disapppointment. I will return it tomorrow but now i have to look for another LT.

The Screen is a beauty

I ordered mine with
17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Wide Viewing (1680x1050)

screen

everything is clear, it has spoiled me to the point that I dont like my crt anymore

I even try to find a way to connect my destop to my laptop so that I can play games from my desktop but It seems its not possible

aw well

Thank you for sharing much needed information. I was surprised at the low quality of the Dell screen.

Actually the i9300 from Dell is a great buy, great battery life and with the x6000 lowering its graphics, the i9300 is much better!

Question about x600 vs. x700 or nvidia 6800

Hey Guys,
I have a few questions about the actual gaming difference between the x600, x700 and the 6800. I've had a hard time finding reviews on the x600 card on any site and the reviews for the 6800 and the x700 are pretty much the same. "This card rocks", "This is a great mobile gaming card", etc.

I am in the market for another laptop (my current system is a HP zt3000) and want the larger screen size and a more powerful vid card. I like what I see with most all manufacturers and have thus decided to make cost one of the largest concerns. I like what I see with the Compaq x6000. It's a good looking laptop and appears to have an assortment of good options; however, I am concerned about the power of the x600. I would like for it to be able to play games such as BfVietnam and Rome TW with ease, and at fairly high settings. Can it do that?

With that in mind, I would like to know what actual owners of systems with those respective cards actually think? If anyone could do me the favor of informing me as to whether the extra money for the higher performance card is worth it for one who doesn't play games all that often, but when I do, I want it to play them well.

Thanks for info - any is appreciated.

The last time I was in this thread I think I only posted once...
In my experience with Compaq, I hate them. It was my old pc... the Presario. Ew. Then I got the Dell Dimension 9100!
