Cheapest Place To Buy RAM???

I heard that you can save money by buying RAM somewhere else...I know you can buy them at crucial and at pctorque...but pctorque is kind of pricey and I dont know which is the right one on crucial...is there a better place to buy RAM???

p.s. my model is the 4060
looking for another 512mb ram

If you don't know, you're probably better off just getting it installed when you order the PC, save yourself a ton of headaches.

I think this is the same model by prostar so this memory should be a match.. if not crucial is good at taking returns

I reccommend Mushkin. Same if not better quality than Crucial.

Can't hurt that they're local to me either.

It's kinda funny to call em up, and say hey guys, I would like to buy some ram. Oh, and I'll be down this afternoon to pick it up. heh heh.

a couple months ago my desktop's motherboard died, so i upgraded and needed some PC2700. best buy had kingston 512MB for $70 less $30 rebate = $40 good deal!. i send in the required paperwork and upc code and then 6 to 8 weeks later i get a postcard from kingston saying they cannot process my rebate becuase i didn't inlcude the upc code. naturally i was disappointed and feel ripped off. i have sent in many rebates to other companies in the past from best buy and other locales and so far this is the only time i've been screwed.

oh and now sometimes when i boot, my fabulous asus motherboard bios says 'computer failed memory test' (it talks) and then it proceeds to boot normally. i haven't had any stability problems, but i can imagine if the ram had flaked out completely then i would be trying to return it and best buy's notoriously helpful personnel saying i couldn't return it without the upc code which i mailed in to kingston!

Well maybe but crucial is cheaper..

Let's see I think he was looking for cheaper and that's almost a 60 dollar difference..Not trying to get you mad but facts.. and i've never had any problems with crucial

i highly recommend DealRam.com. thanks to them i found my second 512mb chip for a paltry $88, shipped. and it was "mac only". so far works great, have had it for about a month.

they have pc2100 sodimm 1gb for $598
cheapest price i've seen for a 1gb sodimm so far.. also they have pc3200 512 sodimm for 128.85

I always liked 18004memory.com - Very fast shipping - good prices - no problems the 3 times I have bought from them - AND they buy back memory from older machines etc - sure its not for much but hey its better than it sitting in a drawer in your desk.
