I just smartened up and got on my dialup connection and tried and I'm getting the same problem you all are. :-( I don't suppose anyone has a connection they can host a game on? Or we could all meet on one of the servers, lol. Lemme see if there's a suitable one...

Yea, who needs BF1942 when we can enjoy trying to get through Beebster's firewall all night lol.

ok let's try this. go back xxx posts to the ports that do show up for your machine as open. Setup the server there and let's see if we can get some action? I'm scanning all 65k ports on your machine now. run a netstat and let me know if you see me.

I'm confused... what's netstat? I'm assuming you want me to just start a server on the original port that I know is open? 1082? I've got one started there now.

if you go into the command prompt and you type netstat or netstat -a it shows all connections to your computer

I'm starving, so I'm gonna go get something to eat. I hope you guys can figure this out. I tried the demo earlier today just so I wouldn't be lost playing it, and it was really fun even though the only thing I seemed to be able to do with the plane was ram it into trucks and tanks.

The server computer shows a TCP connection local address srourhaz:1058 foreign address 64.41.169.140:http state established.
naw, I'm not upset by it though I was looking forward to wiping you guys across the map. okok, kidding, the 5 minutes I played it today I realized I'm not going to do real well since I couldn't figure out how to get in a vehicle lol.
Let's hope beakmyn doesn't get blocked from all access when they see the port scans
post #116 of 154
try port 445 that's file sharing but I wonder if battlefield can take it over?
If you deleted that from your start menu, you can go to run and type in command.com for a command prompt.

Flying planes takes practice :-) You can be my gunner if you'd rather not pilot but you wanna fly :-)

And to get in a vehicle, you hit E, and to change to different positions you press teh different numbers (ie: position 1 is always driver, and you press the number 1 to go there... position 2 is usually a gunner if the vehicle has a second position, and you press the number 2 to get there once you're in the vehicle.)
that's great to know. BUT WE CAN GET INTO YOUR SERVER!

Was the info I typed actually you? That IP address? 64.41.169.140? I'll start a server with the port you suggested, try connecting to it in a second.
